Curtis Family Update
Third hotel in a week continuing my Glorious Motherhood Adventure. Matt, Zach, Maddy and I are in Lynchburg tonight to see Sophia in Liberty University's production of The Mikado.
Very exciting as we have been here numerous times to see Ben and Sophia in opera productions, but this year there is a new theater! And better production values - sets and costumes.
Sophia is Katisha - a role she also played in high school. And her sweetheart Josh Head is the Lord High Executioner:
Sophia is an incredible character actress and always manages to steal the show. Tripp saw it last week while Maddy and I were in Las Vegas and said she and Josh were hilarious together.
We are in the hotel now. Matt and Zach are going swimming, Maddy is watching House - her current passion - and I am catching up on whatever I can.
It was snowing when we left home - on top of about 10 inches already but there is not a speck of snow left here in Lynchburg. I hope there is still snow when we get home tomorrow as I really want to make a snowman with the boys.
But in between now and then we will take Sophia and Josh out for dinner after the show, take them for breakfast tomorrow morning and then head up to Chantilly to see Jonny's Special Olympics basketball tournament.
I am so grateful I had all these kids! On the way down I caught up with Ben -he and Anna are in Rochester, New York where he auditioned this morning for grad school (opera). That's their number one choice, but he has other auditions coming up.
Josh spent the last couple days with his side job plowing snow. We had an incredible situation in the metropolitan area this week, with people taking up to 12 hours to get home from work. Our neighbor said it took him 3 hours to drive home to Bluemont from Leesburg - usually a 30 minute drive. We had a lot of snow in a short amount of time. Yes, we had a lot of warning and everyone should have left work early, but I guess we'd gotten so many warnings about snow that never materialized this year that everyone stopped listening.
Hattie is still feeling weak and tired from chemo, but after three years, she and Josh have decided to stop putting off things until she is better, They've booked a cruise with two other couples this spring. I'm so excited for them! I've never been on a cruise, but this is the next best thing - to know they are going on one :)
Also talked to Samantha and got the scoop on my grandchildren. My oldest grandson Tim - born in between Jonny and Maddy - is going to Liberty next year. Trying out for a soccer scholarship in a couple weeks.
I know a lot of you pray for my family and I can't tell you how much your prayers are appreciated.
btw, EWTN is rerunning its coverage of the Verizon Center Mass and March for Life Saturday at 2pm. I don't think it will include the musical part of the youth rally, but you can check it out. The Mass is pretty amazing.
I will get to the giveaways when I get home - sorry for the delay :/
