March for Life 2011 - photos by Victoria Gingras
Absolutely the most under-reported and misrepresented national event each year! Where else could a few hundred thousand young people - 80% under 25 - gather in the freezing cold for a political event only to have the Mainstream Media studiously ignore them?
As a former radical leftist/abortion rights activist, I attended scores of demonstrations in Washington, DC. Now, having undergone a change of heart, I'm grateful for the opportunity to join in an event based on affirming the value of human life. As one sign I spotted said, quoting Seuss's Horton: "A person's a person, no matter how small."
For five years since I returned to Virginia, I've chronicled the true March for Life by creating a photo-journal.
This year, because of Maddy's appearance at the Teen Rally and Mass - involving a lot of behind the scenes activity and little sleep - I was unable to take pictures myself. I hired a young woman photographer named Victoria Gingras to take pictures for me. I hope you enjoy them.

You might get a chuckle - except that the propaganda power of the media is so scary - at how NPR represented yesterday's March:
The scene on the National Mall earlier this afternoon.
As one commenter put it - "How long did this photographer - or any other photographers, for that matter - have to look to find a picture so unrepresentative of the March for Life, which is remarkable for being filled with young people and families 0f all ethnicities?"
NPR has since removed all comments.
Another reminder to lobby your congressperson to chop NPR's funding. No reason for us to pay for their propaganda.

I was there Barbara... holy moly... it was PACKED. My 3yr old was frustrated because he couldn't move, it was THAT packed! And the youth! Oh my gosh! I'm not a "youngster" but I'm not old either... I'm only 36 but there was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE contingent of people much younger than I, that that is a serious cause for rejoicing!
God must have been smiling down on us for this event. The joy that was there, the love, the peace... it was awesome!

Let the pro choicers live with their blindfolds and hide their heads in the sand. Let them live in their fantasy. They won't know what hit them when the youth bowl them over. As the majority of pro'lifers increases, they will be old and wondering what happened. All we will need to say is " Where are your children?" After all " He who rocks the cradle rules the world."

Our parish (St. Joseph Church in Farmington Mo.) led the march this year. The roads were PACKED on both sides by teens! These kids will keep demanding change! I am so impressed with them!

I was with the group who had the "Life what a beautiful choice" banner. Who you can't see because they are hidden by the banner are the young people we brought with us. Some effort had to go into finding that angle

Hey Barbara,
Victoria took some of the best pics of The March I've seen thus far.
