40 Days for Life 3/9 - 4/17 2011: Get involved!
40 Days for Life is a loving, prayerful approach to the tragedy of abortion. Anyone can participate by signing up with their local chapter to keep a prayer vigil going around the clock outside abortion clinics.
Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood director credits 40 Days for Life with her own awakening to the truth about abortion and encourages all believers to participate.
This year, because of new friends in Congress, startling revelations about Planned Parenthood's willingness to aid and abet sex-trafficking, and Abby's book Unplanned
I plan to sign up for shifts myself - and hope many of you will too.

I just want to second Barbara - please sign up! You will be blessed beyond measure. I first got involved several years ago when a friend announced in our bible study, "hey, I signed us all up for this thing called 40 Days for Life." From that inauspicious beginning, I have gone on to committee work, and eventually become a director, in our local campaign. We have seen lives saved (10 that we know of from the fall '10 campaign alone!) and hurting women being given hope and brought to forgiveness and healing in post-abortion retreats. The spring Lenten campaigns are always special - you really get to pick up your cross and accompany the Lord. It is awesome!

Looks like I'm going to have to stick to just prayer this year, since I'm due on April 15th so no fasting for this Mama. But maybe my gestation is my own contribution ;)
Anyway, I will continue to pray as always and look forward to the next time I can contribute more (probably next year). God bless you!
