Loudoun County: Friends of Wayde Byard
This is an inside joke for those of us with kids in public schools who have been waking up - recently more times than not - to the dulcet tones of Wayde Byard, our official LCPS Public Information Officer. Cool title, dontcha think?
Wayde has also been given the formidable task of waking up Loudoun families to tell us when there is no school - a message we love to hear but at 5 or 6 in the morning, maybe not so much.
This morning was extra special because we got not one, but two, wake-up calls from Wayde.
The first intimated that Loudoun would have a two hour delay. I reset the alarm and left the phone off the hook, so Tripp was already dressed and on his way to drive his school bus when he learned we'd missed the second - in which Wayde announced there'd be no school today at all.
Long live Wayde Byard! And just for fun, you can join the Facebook page Friends of Wayde Byard, which in five days has gathered more than 1000 fans - putting Wayde ahead of his employer, Loudoun County Public Schools.
LOL material - we've got some funny people in this county :)
