Baby Joseph in US! Thank you, Fr. Pavone!
EXCLUSIVE: 'Baby Joseph' Gets Second Chance at Life in U.S.

The baby who was hours from being
pulled off life support at his Canadian hospital has been rescued by the
national director of Priests for Life and taken to the U.S. for
treatment.
Thirteen-month-old Joseph Maraachli, who is
currently kept alive by a respirator and was recently denied a transfer

early Monday morning with Fr. Frank Pavone and other Priests for Life
staff.

Thank heaven. I had been busy emailing and forwarding updates to friends. I have been following this story since is became public on our local newscasts.
It's horrifying to think that we here in Canada don't have control over our own health choices (unless we want an abortion as a minor!).
I'm so happy to read that Baby Joseph and his family are getting the kind of care they wanted.
Thanks for the update Barbara!

I'm not sure how I feel about this story. I think I would need a great deal more information before I decide this transfer was a good or bad thing. I read a comment on another blog that said after reading the baby's health records that American Hospital staff said that everything that could have been done for Baby Joseph had already been done....My understanding is that the baby has a degenerative neurological disorder. It can not be cured and the baby will not “recover.†I fully support making the baby as comfortable as possible for as long as the Lord sees fit to give him life. And I understand the parent’s desire to try everything to help their child. My prayers go out to his family. I can not imagine the pain of loosing a child.
