Green Machine: Best ride-on EVER!

It's 76 degrees! Spring is here in Bluemont today - all our doors and windows are open - and though there are murmurs of snow next week, we're all basking in the beautiful allergen-laden air.

My thoughts are turning to summer clothes and summer fun - maybe yours are too. And in case you're in the market for ride-ons, you need to know about the Green Machine, which is universally agreed to be the best.

From 2009, but just as true today:

First thing to keep in mind: I have eight boys 9-26. My first 4-in-a-row boys (Josh, Ben, Matt and Zach) loved riding Kettcars. But by the time the next 4-in-a-row boys (Jonny, Jesse, Daniel, Justin - 1 by birth, 3 by adoption, all with Down syndrome) reached the age where they were ready for the Big Boy rides, I wanted to get up-to-speed (no pun intended) and did my research.

The riding toy that got consistent rave reviews from parents was the Green Machine, so in 2003 we bought a couple of them - and they're still running - carrying even my biggest boys, who are all over 6 feet. Here they are at a Family Day in 2009:

After that Family Day, I decided we'd better invest in a couple more Green Machines. Checking their ratings they were still going strong. And Amazon had a great price. Here is the new - and IMPROVED! - model, which Matt put together last summer:

The seat is adjustable - which is a real plus since everyone from Justin (9 but quite small) to Josh (26) can make it work.

But when the Big boys are on the Green Machines, Justin rides his Big Flyer:

With summer starting and in case you have birthdays coming up, just thought I'd share these. These investments are worth every penny! And the price has gotten even lower -
