Josh and Hattie update

Hattie and Josh Nassau.jpg

Well friends, Hattie and Josh are still very much in need of our prayers. I think I told you they had decided - after several years of putting their lives on hold while battling Hattie's cancer - to go on a short cruise.

They had just barely gotten back and unpacked. Hattie was having more pain and so yesterday they went to see her neurosurgeon and got a heavy dose of bad news. She has posted the details at her blog Walk By Faith. If you have been following their story and would like to know how to pray specifically for them, please visit.

I really am at a loss for words. I only wish we could bear this burden for them. But all we can do is pray.

Love,

Amidst this most difficult trial, I give thanks that Hattie has a good strong husband. Reminds me that raising strong Godly sons has significance beyond what I can currently see. May the Lord intervene and bring healing to Hattie.

Barbara, I went to Hattie's blog to read the latest news and being so untechnical, I couldn't figure out how to post to her blog. Will you pass on to her a message? I've cut and pasted below what I originally typed:

Hattie, I am praying. You don't know me--I'm here from Mommylife. I've read Barbara for years (e-mailed and "chatted" with her a few times, too) and have followed your story.

My oldest daughter had surgery for spinal fusion due to severe scoliosis 2 years ago, so I do understand some--but, certainly not all--of what you will go through. We could really see God at work during and after her surgery. God was and still is always present!

I will pray for your patience, strength, and healing. Continue to trust Him.

blessings to both you and Josh

I tried to comment on Hattie's blog but ran into technical difficulties. (Don't have the right ID or something.) Copied and pasted it here. Please let her/them know I'm praying. Thanks.

I stalk Mommy Life and came to encourage you to be strong and courageous. I had a thumb sized tumor on my spinal cord at C6/C7 8 years ago. All I can say is that God continues to be gracious. He is God and He is good. I'm praying that any fear and uncertainty will give way to His perfect love and peace. My heart goes out to you both...
