Barbara Curtis leaves Purcellville Gazette
Some readers have wondered why I'm not writing anymore for the Purcellville Gazette.
In a nutshell: For 2 1/2 years, I wrote columns without pay for the Gazette. Having written professionally for many newspapers and magazines - including standing columns in two other papers - it was really the only unpaid writing I ever did, except for my church bulletin.
Speculation that the radical liberal the Gazette hired "for balance" is being paid forced me to reconsider.
Not sure why I gave away my work for so long, but I am finished. The owners make a profit on their paper and should be able to afford at least a token payment for writing which attracts readers to the paper - which in turn attracts advertisers.
The good news is that you can always find me here at my blog!

Barbara,
Sorry to read the above. I really enjoyed your articles and your openness about your faith.
I'm in the process of pulling together something for the female teens in Lovettsville (hopefully all of Western Loudoun eventually) and would love to speak to you and Maddy about this.
I used to be a youth ministries director and God has me working on something to empower our young ladies through His love and guidance. Please let me know how I can contact you.
Thank you,
Katrina
