Carbonite - I'm a believer!

computer died.jpgAbout 10 days ago we were having an incredible series of thunderstorms - with thunder so near it was almost in synch with the lightning. I blithely continued working at my computer and forgot to shut it off before I went to bed.

The next morning it was dead. Not a spark of life in it. My son-in-law Kip - computer expert - had the final word, as in Wizard of Oz:

As Coroner I must aver,
I thoroughly examined her,
and she's not only merely dead,
she's really most sincerely dead.

Since all my other equipment was fine, I just needed a PC Tower and found one with good reviews for under $500. I don't know how long ago I got my old one, but this one has twice the gigs and takes up a quarter of the space. Not to mention that it is FAST! and quiet.

For a week in the meantime I was working from Tripp's ex-laptop, so things were a little slower around here. But as of yesterday, I am fully equipped not only with reliable hardware, but. . . . . .

I also have all my old files, pictures, music!!!

How could that be? Well, about a year ago I finally took the hint from all the radio commercials and invested in Carbonite - a free trail, then $60/year.

I am here to tell you that was one of the best investments I ever made. Even as I am typing now, Carbonite is uploading 60,000 gigs (oops! brilliant #2 son noticed I got my files and gigs confused) 58,239 files, 70.41 GB of information - my nine books, 1500 articles, family correspondence, priceless photos and memories - to my new hard drive.

If you were like me - hearing Carbonite ads and wondering if it would be worth it - let me just say that $60 was some of the best money I ever spent. If you ever want to sign up, please use my affiliate link:
