Loved it! The part that made my tears start to flow was the sign that said "Forgive yourself". Such good advice for life, not just for motherhood.
Thanks for sharing that, B!

I just loved this. Thank you for sharing! I cried the whole way through. I most liked the "forgive yourself". I think (and I think most of us as moms) have the most trouble with this one thing. There are so many things that I wish I had not done/said/overlooked. I would love to be able to go back and change those things, but I thank God daily for the way He forgives me and still works through me to be the mom my children need, in spite of myself.
By the way, thank you for ALL the great posts for Mother's Day. They have all been so good.

I loved it. I think my favorite was imperfect is the new "perfect." I think that is a lesson I'm still working on learning. Tying your other posts (about understanding our own mothers etc.) together, my mother was a wonderful woman who loved her family with everything she had, but she was also a hard, demanding woman. She grew up under Soviet occupation where making mistakes or bad choices could leave you dead so it's no shock that she worked to hard to make sure her daughters were responsible people. She taught me to be strong, to be competent but not so much to be spontaneous or fun. God in his wisdom gave me four closely spaced little ones who are teaching me a whole lot about messes, and laughter and the perfection of imperfection.
Barbara, thank you for all the thought provoking posts. Happy Mother's Day.....

My sign would say "Trust less in your own strength and rely more on God's!" I also liked the quote "imperfect is the new perfect".

I agree completely with Wendy:
My sign would say "Trust less in your own strength and rely more on God's!" I also liked the quote "imperfect is the new perfect".
