Curtis Boys make Stink Bug Trap
Though there is a pesticide for Stink Bugs to spray outside your house, once the bugs are in, there hasn't been much recourse. Most obnoxious is that they are drawn to the light, so working ona computer or reading in bed at night is a sure way to invite StinkBug Terrorism, with the prehistoric-looking creatures clumsily dive-bombing ionto your pillows and into your hair.
I had heard a Stink Bug trap advertised, but was still catching them by hand when last week I heard about a do-it-yourself Stink Bug Trap, which I promptly posted here.
So this weekend Tripp set aside time to make this a project with the Downzers (our four sons with Down syndrome - like stepping stones a couple of girls down from the four Big Boyz.
First he picked up some Diet Pepsi and went to Home Depot in Winchester for the LED lights. Surprise! Home Depot had a display to teach complete with LED lights and instructions for customers on how to make the homemade traps.
Today, Tripp started by showing the boys a pile of dead stink bugs that has accumulated between a window and screen:
Then they watched the video together:
Then they got to work:
Job well done:
Waiting for the marauders tonight (you need to watch the video to find out why the black tape on the bottom and the masking tape up the sides - we told the boys they were ladders):
