God in the Streets of New York City
God in the Streets of New York City
"God In The Streets of New York City" depicts the stark contrast between the everyday chaos of the busy streets of New York City -- complete with traffic, construction and police cars -- and the majestic, serene, peaceful presence of Our Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
There is always an opportunity for you to meet Jesus face to face. This meeting poses the question: Will you recognize him and adore Him? Our Lord desires to be among us, to nourish us spiritually.
The monstrance used to carry the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of New York City in this video is one of six that were personally blessed by Pope John Paul II before his death to mark the celebration of the Year of the Eucharist.
From Grassroots Films.
This is a follow-up to the Lift the City - A Eucharistic Flash Mob. Some who commented were not sure whether the proper reverence was shown with carrying the monstrance in a gym bag. That did make me feel a little uneasy too.
I ran this last year but it didn't get much play - another touching instance of taking Jesus to the people.
I am hoping we see more of this in days to come.

I love this video and watch it from time to time when I need to raise my spirits. I love the ordination video by grassroots too. :)

I do not know anything about these circumstances but I have read that Mother Teresa had special permission to carry the Eucharist in her pocket. This would of course be highly disrespectful for most of us but for her, it was allowed. So I would guess that these friars had some sort of permission as well.
