Lift the City - Eucharistic flash mob - follow-up

Only a few moments passed between my watching and then publishing Lift the City - Eucharistic Flash Mob.

While I did my part - broadcasting - others did theirs: more research. For any who found this event moving and/or thought-provoking, I have three points of follow-up:

God in the Streets of New York City - a video depicting "the stark contrast between the everyday chaos of the busy streets of New York City -- complete with traffic, construction and police cars -- and the majestic, serene, peaceful presence of Our Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament" from Grassroot Films

Catherine of Siena Institute: Come and Kneel Before Him Now, in which Sherry expands on the background music and the Capuchins.

National Catholic Register: Every Knee Shall Bow Flash Mob in which Tim Drake offers commentary PLUS a transcription of the worship - for which many will be very grateful:

He was bruised and brought healing.
He was pierced and eased pain.
He was persecuted and brought freedom.
He was dead and brought life.
He is risen and brings power.
He reigns and brings peace.

The world can't understand Him.
The armys can't defeat Him.
Schools can't explain Him and the leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him.
The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him.
The people couldn't hold him. [This is where the clapping begins]
Nero couldn't crush Him.
Hitler couldn't silence Him.
The New Age can't replace Him.
And Oprah can't explain Him away.

He is Life, Love, Longevity, and Lord.
He is Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, Mighty, Powerful, and Pure.
His Ways our Right, His Words Eternal, His Rules Unchanging, and His
Mind is on me.
He is My Redeemer, He is My Savior, He is My God, He is My Priest, He is My Joy, He is My Comfort, He is My Lord, and He rules my life."

Barbara, I am protestant, not Catholic, so there were parts of these videos that did not hold the same meaning for me that they would for you, but I cried through both of them...that the Body of Christ would be revealed so boldly and beautifully in dark places and that the powerful words of truth (those printed above) were spoken aloud (albiet to some deaf ears) with confidence and in love.

Thank you for posting them.

Thanks for providing the transcript of Jesus is in every book of the Bible. As I watched the video Lift The City, what I wanted immediately were the words being spoken. Awesome!

The only thing I would change is the Oprah line. Oprah doesn't try to explain Him away.

Thank-you for posting these videos, I reposted on my fb as well. I am an avid weekly Eucharistic Adoration fan. Being with Jesus every week for an hour, face to face, is life changing. I have also attended the Fransican University of Stuebenville Youth conferences where Jesus, in the monstrance is processed through the huge area, and kids are deeply and profoundly touched by His Real Presence. Where before they only understood the Real Presence in their heads, now they understand in their hearts. When I go home at 8p.m. after my hour of Adoration is over, I drive home and I see the light of the television shining out of many a home's living room, while the church is empty except for a few. I want to personally knock on each door and invite each person there to come sit with Jesus for awhile. He is patiently waiting for YOU!

Barbara,

Check out this video of the Triumphant Quartet singing out book by book a similar transcription in their song He Is. I recognized it because I posted it on my blog last month.

The listing of Jesus revealed through the books of the Bible has been read several times in our church through the years. Always very powerful! The "He is" portion reminds me quite a bit of the famous video, "That's MY Jesus".
