Lida and Lizzie Dutton and Sarah Steer of Waterford, Virginia dealt with foraging troops and skirmishes, cared for wounded soldiers, and, in the midst of all, managed to write an underground newspaper for Union soldiers!

Armed with nothing more than their wits, these young women fought the Confederacy in their own way, and their humor, strength and faith will give audiences of all ages a fresh perspective on the most dangerous time in American history. Recommended for children ages 12 and up. Written and directed by Meredith Bean McMath.
