What keeps you from adopting?
Are you living the American dream? Get over it! There's so much more beyond:
HT: The Lindsay Family:
We are a family blessed with eight children. Our oldest three were born to us, and our youngest are each adopted. They youngest four have Down Syndrome and are such a blessing to us and everyone who knows them! Jamie and I have been married 19 years. He is a high school teacher, and I stay home to school the children. We are now seeking to live together in a way that is pleasing to Jesus as our family encounters new challenges and embraces what each day brings.
If you don't feel led to adopt, but you do feel led to help, please consider contributing to the fund for their next adoption.
Quotes gathered from their site:
"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8
"Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy" Psalm 82:3,4a
"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widow in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27
"...learn to do right! Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17
"I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name." Isaiah 45:3

LOVE this, Barbara! Thank you for sharing.
Would anyone like to comment on considering adoption while you are still ( potentially) in the fertile years? I know people have babies and adopt at the same time... Maybe my excuse would be that I am homeschooling and can only have so many babies at one time, LOL... Weak argument? Or are there seasons of our lives for different things...? Hmmmmmm
