Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne

What do you think of this ad? It came in a package I received the other day, with a sample of the cologne.
I thought it was hideous - an emaciated corpse surrounded by beautiful flowers and *bunnies?*
No matter what I thought of the cologne, I doubt if I would ever buy it now. Sorry, I just don't identify with corpses.

I don't get this ad at all. She does look like a corpse. Is that the intention? If you know what it's supposed to mean, please let us know. I'm bewildered.
I would still buy the scent if it turns out to be terrific. I buy for the product, not for the ad.

Cath, of course I don't mean that I wouldn't buy it because of the ad. But the scent is now associated in my mind with the image of a corpse.
That's what advertising is all about - creating associations that make you want to buy.

Maybe the ad is trying to sell that the perfume is so powerful and smells so good, it can cover up the scent of a decaying corpse?

I don't think it was intended way.

I have to confess that I didn't see it as a corpse. Her arms have those long gloves on that go past the elbow. That's why they look so white.
She looks like she's in her bedroom and that once she puts on the cologne, instead of her bed, she's lying in a field of lilacs. And a very old-fashioned dress at that.
Having said all of that, I still can't stand the picture. lol!!

It wasn't the color of the gloves, but her dead-looking eyes and emaciated features that struck me as death.

Yeah, it did look kind of ghoulish.

Actually, the first thing I noticed was that her chest was hanging out of her dress and for that reason alone I'd throw it out so my sons and husband did not have to see it.
