I have to say that I am glad I didn't mention this to my children before going to the website to purchase tickets because I ended up not buying them. I was set to pay $17/ticket for a family of 4, but then found out that there is a $24 service charge added on which is very disappointing, because it drives the price up from $68 to $92 which is not affordable for us for an evening out. As fun as it sounds, it's still extremely pricey! Thank you, though, for offering the discount.

I hear you about those service fees. They have risen and risen, bringing in more money for companies that do nothing other than act as middlemen between consumers and entertainment. It reminds me of HMOs, which wedged their way in between doctors and patients and whose profits grow steadily while they provide no service other than shuffling paper. Or referral services for contractors.
It's not fair to consumers or nor to the service/entertainment industries. I wish we could make them go away completely and forever.
I will forward your comment to the folks at Big Apple. I hope they can come up with an alternative.

I found out from the folks at Big Apple that if you go to the box office in person you won''t have to pay fees. I know that's an inconvenience, but maybe it will make the difference between whether your family can see the show.
