Michelle Duggar's letter to Jubilee Shalom

One lasting legacy of the Duggars' recent loss of their baby Jubilee Shalom is their model of the dignity and grace with which miscarriage should be treated.

So often, mothers who miscarry are left to fend for themselves. Their grief is not understood. And the babies are not buried with dignity.

Jubilee Shalom Duggar from WMtek Inc on Vimeo.

The Duggars were an example to all of us of a healthy, holistic response to losing their baby.

I actually just completed an article on this subject for Celebrate Life: Elizabeth Ministry - miscarriage and infant loss. Will link when it is published, but in the meantime you can visit Elizabeth Ministry for help or ideas on how to help others suffering similar losses.

Love,

Thanks for posting this Barbara. As mommy to 7,5 here, one in the womb and one in heaven it was a beautiful tribute to life. I was just praying tonight before I came online that God would take away the fear of another loss- even though I have had two babies since- so that I could truly embrace this baby without any trepidations. I found the peice quite healing. Thanks

That was so, so precious. I also lost a baby that was due in April and it was hard not feeling I really had the "right" to grieve when I have five perfectly healthy children here. Michelle Duggar is so inspiring in the quiet, gentle way she simply does what she believes to be best without being overly concerned with what others will say. I'm blessed by her strength.
