Barbara, I just read on MOTUS about your fall and your broken leg. MOTUS suggested we send you our prayers and best wishes on Facebook, but I'm not on Facebook yet. Anyway, I'm adding you to my MOTUS prayer list.
BTW, I love your blog, which I discovered via MOTUS' blogroll. Although I'm neither a mother nor a Catholic, I find much to enjoy (and agree with) here. God bless you and your work.

Barbara, I'm pasting a comment I made on MOTUS. Please read it and DO NOT DELAY fixing the leg.
"Oh, MOTUS, she needs to have that leg set (and pinned if necessary) immediately.
I broke a leg five years ago...lower right tibia and fibula. At our teaching hospital I got an Ortho resident who should never be allowed to treat any human being. He was too lazy to do the work necessary for a fix immediately. He put a "temporary" plaster cast on it (cutting through the still-wet plaster for expansion joints and burning my leg in the process) and sent me home. He said, "We'll call you to schedule surgery."
Yeah...right. Three days later, with no phone call and in agony, I was back at the hospital where they cut the plaster cast off and discovered that the entire lower leg was one mass of fracture blisters. Now they couldn't do surgery because the skin would not heal. So they put me in a full leg cast for two months but it wasn't set right and the breaks did not heal.
Upshot...a trip to Mayo a year later to have the bones pinned properly. The entire experience was a nightmare, save for the hydromorphone they prescribed by the bucket. Guess they figured if I were zoned out I'd forget their malpractice. I did not. I wrote a scathing letter to the head of the Ortho department, outlining my mistreatment and suggesting it would be a nice gesture on their part (and possibly stave off a lawsuit) if they canceled my patient's portion of the bill. Believe it or not, they did.
Geez, I didn't mean to ramble. I'm not on Facebook but can someone who is tell Barbara to get that leg set ASAP, please?"
My heart goes out to you. May this heal well and quickly.

I really enjoyed seeing your San Juan pictures--we were there last year. So much beauty! So sorry to hear about your ankle and your derailed plans. I understand the pain you are in and we will keep you in our prayers as you have to figure what to do next.
