Maddy in Le Nozze de Figaro - Bel Cantanti
Maddy was recently in Le Nozze de Figaro at Bel Cantanti Opera. She's a mezzo-soprano, a voice range for which opera roles are best summarized as "witches, britches and *itches."Currently her youth makes her perfect for the britches - or "trousers" roles - usually young pages who are in love with love and typically add a note of comedy.
Here are pictures from her latest role - Cherubino in Le Nozze de Figaro:

In this last picture, she is still playing the guy - being dressed as a girl to conceal his identity - but still overcome by hormones. Like I said, comedic.
She was amazing - voice-wise and acting too.

Barbara, I am still a faithful reader. Not only is your blog an inspiration to me, the way you have raised your children is an inspiration to me. I do wonder how you do it all sometimes. I have 5 from 4 to 14 and I am exhausted sometimes. Kudos to Maddie for her role in the opera. she looks so cute! Is her hair short or just pulled back? reminds me of my youthful hopes and dreams of when I wanted to study drama and writing. but alas.... But I am a happy Mama, and I keep in mind helping my children pursue their dreams. Maybe someday a future blog post from you. Anyways, keep up the great job and have a safe a dn fun trip w/ Maddy!
