Best children's stepstool ever!

A reader bought one of these through my Amazon link last week (thank you so much for remembering to support MommyLife while you shop), which reminded me I should run it again.

A sturdy and safe stepstool for your child is one of the BEST investments you will ever make. Any toddler would be more thrilled to receive this for a birthday or Christmas gift than the cutest, brightest commercial toy in the world.

My advice: Instead of thinking of ways to keep your child busy while you work in the kitchen, think of ways to keep them there - that way they will still be there when they're teens!

stepstool guidecraft.jpg Isn't this the best stepstool ever? For years, I've been encouraging parents to have a stepstool in the kitchen to enable/encourage your child to be part of your work - so much better than plugging them into TV while you make meals.

This one is super-pricey, but from a Montessori/common sense perspective, let me tell you why it's worth it:

1) Two steps
2) Narrow projection (so you won't trip over it so often)
3) Top handles for security
4) Side panels for security (I've never seen one like this)
5) Non-slip treads
5) Pleasing aesthetics
6) Superior construction to last through many kids and many memories

I'm all about saving money and I would never urge my readers to splurge on something that I didn't feel confident would improve the quality of their children's lives. But I would put this right up there with a laminator on the must-have list.

When you think that you spend around $200 for a good carseat, this is probably well worth it, safety-wise.

And when you think about a birthday gift for your child, I promise: any toddler would be THRILLED to receive this.
