Campaign conversations - a success story
The other day, Tripp was in Staples and said to the beautiful black girl who helped him, "So I guess you're looking forward to the election so you can vote for Romney."She said that she was voting for Obama, but looked puzzled.
Tripp said, "Well, you know it was Mitt Romney who rescued Staples, turned the company around and kept thousands of jobs - including yours."
When she said, no she did not know that, Tripp said simply, "Well maybe you can check it out," then said goodbye.
Two days later he was back in Staples (school supply time) and got the same clerk. He asked her if she had looked up Romney and she said, "Yes. I did - and it was true. He did save Staples."
Tripp asked her if she had changed her mind about who to vote for. She aid, "I'm thinking about it."
And these conversations were heard by others in line. Way to have an impact, Tripp! I hope others are inspired to find ways to speak the truth to their friends, neighbors and even total strangers!
