Barbara's Product Reviews & Giveaways

Brave Irene book/CD w/ Meryl Streep

[ Newt is the winner of this giveaway. Thanks to all who entered! And thanks to Macmillan for sponsoring it! You can find Brave Irene book/audio at Amazon.]

brave irene1.jpgYou probably already know the story of Brave Irene:

Brave Irene is Irene Bobbin, the dressmaker's daughter. Her mother, Mrs. Bobbin, isn't feeling so well and can't possibly deliver the beautiful ball gown she's made for the duchess to wear that very evening. So plucky Irene volunteers to get the gown to the palace on time, in spite of the fierce snowstorm that's brewing-- quite an errand for a little girl.

But where there's a will, there's a way, as Irene proves in the danger-fraught adventure that follows. She must defy the wiles of the wicked wind, her most formidable opponent, and overcome many obstacles before she completes her mission.

Surely, this winning heroine will inspire every child to cheer her on. Brave Irene is a 1986 New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Book of the Year.
I've always been a fan. And a fan of Meryl Streep's, as well. who could resist this book/audio package. Great Christmas gift.

In addition to the one Macmillan sent me for review, they are holding one set for a giveaway here at MommyLife. Leave a comment and I will draw a winner on 12/2

Oh! My little niece would love this! I too have always been a fan of Meryl Streep and the way she has matured so gracefully - a real inspiration to women who want to do the same. I'd love to check out this book and enjoy it with Brianna.

Love this author! So sad books like this are getting so hard to find in the library anymore. I'm not thrilled with what they are being replaced with!
