Michael Vey: Prisoner of Cell 25

[ Margaret Park, Karen Carter, and Amy Couch are the winners of this giveaway. Thanks to all who entered! And thanks to Mercury Ink for sponsoring it! You can find Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 at Amazon.]

prisoner of cell 25.jpg
I haven't read this yet, but am going to pass it on to Matt or Zach.  In the meantime, I want to make it available to you.

Part science fiction, part mystery. this is the teen fiction book that rocketed to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.  It's still #279 at Amazon, #5 in Teen Mysteries. Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 - was praised by Glenn Beck.

To everyone at Meridian High School, Michael Vey is an ordinary fourteen-year-old. In fact, the only thing that seems to set him apart is the fact that he has Tourette's syndrome. But Michael is anything but ordinary. Michael has special powers. Electric powers.

Michael thinks he's unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor also has special powers. With the help of Michael's friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up this way, but their investigation brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric children - and through them the world. Michael will have to rely on his wits, powers, and friends if he's to survive.

While it promotes strong character and traditional values,  The Prisoner of Cell 25 does not shy away from dark themes and scary situations.  Read the reviews at Amazon to see if this is suitable for your kids.

If so, leave a comment. Mercury Ink has promised three books to MommyLife readers.  I'll draw 12/1.

Thanks for the giveaway! I really want my older daughters (ages 30 and 22) to read this (I do too). I figure it can make the rounds within the family and then I can save it for when my 7 year old is old enough for it!

I can't seem to find this in my local stores. Either they aren't cool enough to stock it, or the people around me are smart enough to know it's a GREAT book. I would love to add it to my classroom library.

This is a fantastic book and hopefully a new series!
I read it first then passed it along to my 7th grade son. In less than 48 hours we had both tore right through it! Excellent read!
I would reccomend this book from 4th grade right on up to High School.
Enjoy!
